Call for proposals is ON!

The First Call for Project Proposals for grants from the GEF-Small Grants Programme Operational Phase 5 is out. The Call was made during the launch of SGP-5 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria in Quezon City, on 21 May 2014.

SGP-5 shall give out up to US$50,000 in grants to projects on community actions for biodiversity conservation of NGOs, people's organizations and other community-based organizations.

"We have simplified the application format to make SGP-5 more accessible to small community-based organizations," reports Atty. Jun Quicho, SGP Country Programme Manager. Furthermore, the programme plans to help applicants prepare viable proposals by holding "writeshops" in priority sites envisioned to allow potential proponents to better understand the requirements for applications as well as the format of the proposal. "We want at least 60 proposals to be developed at the first instance to raise the possibility of meeting the program's targets as early as possible," adds Quicho.

Details on the formal and substantive requirements for application are found in guidelines.
